"It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness." - Viktor Frankl

A great article I came across on DIGG when contemplating on what i need to do and how I should go about in this life. Something that I feel from time to time.. but then... the ideology of Happiness takes over.. and all thoughts are laid to rest in the dust with one fleeting thought about keeping the self happy. You decide what matters...

Sufi Kalaams and their translations

Kalaam of Baba Bulleh Shah

Chup Karke Karin Guzaare Nun

Chup kareke kareen guzaare nu.Sach sunke log na sehnde ni, sach aakhiye te gal pained ni.Phir sache paas na behnde ni, sach mitha aashiq pyaare nu.Chup kareke kareen guzaare nu.

People cannot stand to hear the truth
They are at your throat if you speak it.They keep away from those who speak it.But truth is sweet to its lovers!

Sach shara kare barbaadi eh, sach aashiq de ghar shaadi eh.
Sach karda naveen abaadi eh, jiha shara tareekat hare nu.
Chup kareke kareen guzaare nu.

Truth destroys shara.
Brings rapture to its lovers,
And unexpected riches,
Which shara obscures.
Stay silent to survive.

Chup aashiq to na hundi eh, jis aayi sach sugandhi eh.
Jis maahl suhaag di gundi eh, chadd duniya kood pasaare nu.
Chup kareke kareen guzaare nu.

Those lovers cannot remain silent
Who have inhaled the fragrance of truth.
Those who have plaited love into their lives,
Leave this world of falsehood.
Stay silent to survive.

Bulla Shah sach hun bole hai, sach shara tareekat phole eh.
Gal chauthe pad di khole eh, jiha shara tareeke haare nu.
Chup kareke kareen guzaare nu.

Bulla Shah speaks the truth.
He uncovers the truth of shara.
He opens the path to the fourth level,
Which shara obscures.
Stay silent to survive.

Death Be Not Proud - John Donne

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more, death, thou shalt die.

Quantum Levitation using Super Conductors - A True Jetson's Reality =)

an ingenious demonstration on Quantum Locking/Levitation.
Hopefully, we can use this in practical application where and when the temperatures for the superconductors are at room/environment temperature. Imagine the possibilities of a Friction-less mode of travelling. All this energy wasted would actually go to better use.

What I lost and What I found - Atal Bihari Vaajpayee

This is one of my favorite poems in recent times. Atal Bihari Vajpayee really penned it down well. For someone to convey in the way of this poem is really not rare.. but the writing itself is.. The end itself leaves you incomplete and that goes in turn with the style of this poem which just flows from one line to the next... Here it is..

kya khoya kya paya jag mein
milte aur bichhadte mag mein
mujhe kisi se nahin shiqaayat
yadyapi chhala(cheated) gaya pag pag mein
ek drishti beeti par daalen
yaadon ki potali tatolen
apne hi mann se kuchh bolen
prathvi laakhon varsh puraani
jeevan ek anant kahaani
par tan ki apni seemayen
yadyapi sau sharadon ki vaani
itna kaafi hai antim dastak
par Khud darvaza kholen
apne hi mann se kuchh bolen
janam maran kaa avirat(continuous) phera
jeevan banjaaron kaa deraa
aaj yahan kal kahan kuch hai
kaun janata kidhar savera
andhiyara aakash aseemit
praanon ke pankhon ko taulen
apne hi mann se kuch bolen...

If interested, you may listen to it in its originality with the versatile voice of a great legend.. Jagjit Singh ..... Respect!
